For over two decades, Ixim has provided on-site medical clinics during our core mission trips. While these clinics have great impact, we sought a way to address those with chronic needs who might requiring ongoing care beyond our annual clinics. This hope brought forth our pilot telehealth program, which began in San Sebastian Coatan in 2024.
Our pilot program holds regular telehealth clinics, twice a month, providing ongoing care from U.S.-based clinicians to people in San Sebastián Coatán. Since June 2024, clinicians have held over 100 visits with patients suffering from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and chronic pain.
